There’s no doubting that the Smart car was a real breath of fresh air when it was launched back in 1998. From concept stage onwards, a lot of thought has gone into its striking and, let’s face it, rather quirky design. However, there’s one aspect of its design that we think we’ve improved upon.
It was designed by one of Travall’s directors, who was looking for a way to open the rear of his own Smart Fortwo with just one hand. Our expert engineers then got to work, using a high-grade mild steel and finishing the Boot Release with a unique scratch-resistant, nylon-powder coating, the same coating that’s used on our world-leading Dog Guards and Dividers.
If you own one of the older versions of the Smart Fortwo, you may know how difficult it can be to open the boot when your hands are full, as both boot catches have to be released simultaneously. Well, this simple yet ingenious Boot Release will make things a whole lot easier.
