Sustainability is second nature at Travall

Travall started as a traditional family business in the heart of Derbyshire over 30 years ago. During this time the world has undergone a sea change of thought regarding the environment, as it faces a multitude of issues including climate change and scarcity of resources. Travall is an international company where family and pets are the foci, so caring for the planet has been a huge motivator for us to embrace environmentally friendly practices throughout the business. We have striven to make all our processes reflect our desire to follow an ecologically conscious and sustainable approach.

From the outset, we understood the need to have a low carbon footprint. For this reason, the raw materials for our guards and dividers are obtained from steel mills right here in the UK. When sourcing products and services from external suppliers and subcontractors, we make sure that these third parties also comply to our same stringent standards.

Our guards and dividers are coated in Rilsanl®, a tough nylon powder derived quite simply from castor oil (Ricinus Communis). This plant-based formula has no negative impact on the environment. It is free of heavy metal-based pigments and curing agents, and it does not release any volatile organic compounds. This guard and divider coating, unique to Travall, is not only safe for dogs to chew on but is also environmentally sound.

Travall’s production site is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery designed to maximize throughput while minimizing energy usage and ensuring minimal waste. We aim to supply products with the least amount of packaging possible, while protecting the integrity of the products contained within. With this in mind, we use recycled cardboard to package all of our car accessories, and the boxes are designed to perfectly fit the products in order to reduce waste.

With paperless offices, a recycling collection area, and the use of energy saving appliances and lighting, we take environmental sustainability seriously in every aspect of our business. Our plant-adorned offices help to ensure cleaner air and a healthier indoor environment for our employees. Accountability matters to us, so environmental checks are part of our annual Quality Assurance audit. We are proud to hold ISO14001 certification for environmental management from the British Standards Institution.
